Impact of calcium carbonate and temperature on survival of Escherichia coli in soil

► We evaluated the role of the CaCO3 and temperature on survival of Escherichia coli NAR. ► Incubations were carried out at three temperatures and five CaCO3 concentrations. ► Survival, as estimated by plate counts, was evaluated to extinction. ► CaCO3, high temperatures, and non-sterile soils reduced E. coli NAR survival.
