Identifying clusters and risk factors of injuries in pedestrian-vehicle crashes in a GIS environment

► Bernoulli model in SatScan was used to identify clusters of pedestrian injuries. ► Pedestrian injuries present significant spatiotemporal clustering. ► Age, gender, and intoxication of pedestrians and drivers were risk factors. ► Crossing not at crosswalk and darting into traffic were the most risky behaviors. ► Darkness significantly increased injury risk for pedestrians.
