Entre angoisse et maîtrise, ressources vitales et cognitives de l'art médical

Anxiety can be an appropriate answer in front of danger. However, it can also take pathological forms. While a vital reaction which disrupts behavior in front of the danger it indicates, it also questions its function. Since the middle of the 20th century however, it has not only been a medical problem, for medicine itself and its power over the living which have become a source of anxiety. Yet, fear and anguish do have a psychic and moral positive function. Therefore, going back to the thought of Descartes, which advocates the project of “control and ownership of nature”, it is to find again the “substantial union” which makes up our humanity and this part of the feelings Freud, Kierkegaard or Bergson were so interested in.
