Characterization and quantification of the chemical compositions of Scutellariae Barbatae herba and differentiation from its substitute by combining UHPLC-PDA-QTOF-MS/MS with UHPLC-MS/MS

- UHPLC-QTOF-MS/MS was used to reveal chemical composition of Scutellaria barbata.
- 28 of 36 detected components were identified in S. barbata for the first time.
- 5 flavonoid compounds of S. barbata were quantified by UHPLC-QQQ-MS/MS.
- S. indica cannot be used as the substitute of the official species S. barbata.
- The established approach can discriminate S. barbata among commercial samples.
