Rapid and sensitive determination of propofol glucuronide in hair by liquid chromatography and tandem mass spectrometry

- Rapid and sensitive LC-MS/MS method for analyzing propofol glucuronide from human hair is developed and validated.
- Sample preparation is performed using methanol extraction after micropulverization.
- Lower limit of quantitation of method is 5 pg/mg and assay is linear to 5 ng/mg of hair.
- The assay is successfully applied to detect propofol glucuronide in hair from illegal propofol users.
