Production and characterization of monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) against human serum albumin (HSA) for the development of an immunoaffinity system with oriented anti-HSA mAbs as immobilized ligand

► High affinity monoclonal IgG1 against human serum albumin (HSA) was produced. ► Immunoaffinity system was developed for specific removal of albumin from serum. ► Site specific oriented immobilization of the purified anti-HSA IgG1 was explored. ► Immobilization of anti-HSA IgG1 was done on hydrazide activated agarose gel. ► Affinity system showed high specificity and selectivity to albumin in human serum.
