Inhibition of MMP-2 expression affects metabolic enzyme expression levels: Proteomic analysis of rat cardiomyocytes

Selective inhibition of MMP-2 expression using MMP-2 siRNA in isolated cardiomyocytes increases the contractility of cardiomyocytes (left panel). ATP synthase activity was found higher in the MMP-2 siRNA group (right panel). These results show that increased activity of ATP synthase is associated with MMP-2 inhibition.117
