Diagnostic de la trichinellose

Trichinellosis is a worldwide parasitic zoonosis, due to the consumption of poorly cooked pig, boar, horse or bear meat. Patients complain of fever, diarrhea, facial edema and myalgia. The diagnosis is suspected on an increased level of eosinophil count and muscular enzymes, and confirmed by serological tests. The sooner the treatment with albendazole and prednisolone is introduced, the sooner the symptoms decrease. Prevention is based on pork control and sufficient cooking of meat at 63 °C.
