Marqueurs biochimiques de l'insuffisance cardiaque (IC)

Heart failure is a major public health issue. Assay of natriuretic peptides (BNP and NT-proBNP) is today an essential tool for emergency clinicians to establish acute dyspnoea diagnosis and for cardiologists to evaluate heart failure or coronary patient prognosis. These tests add to clinical data and imaging. Given the basic pathophysiopathologic role of these peptides, both validated and potential applications of those assays have been rapidly developed. The aim of this review is to present current use and applications of natriuretic peptide assays in clinical practice.
