HPV et cancers : mécanismes de l'oncogenèse

Specific genotypes of high risk human papillomaviruses are responsible of cervical cancer, the second tumor in women worldwide. Cellular transformation and maintenance of the malignant phenotype are mainly linked to the expression of the viral E6 and E7 proteins. These oncoproteins target many cellular proteins involved in cell cycle regulation, apoptosis control, DNA repair, spindle formation, intercellular and cell-extracellular matrix adhesion, cell motility and mitogenic signal transduction pathways.
