Chiral recognition and quantification of propranolol enantiomers by surface enhanced Raman scattering through supramolecular interaction with β-cyclodextrin

► For the first time chiral recognition of propranolol enantiomers is described using SERS. ► The enantiomeric excess determination is very fast without the use of a separation process. ► Highly accurate chemometric model based on PLS using SERS data is presented. ► A molecular interaction model responsible of enantioseparation is proposed.
