Matrix-assisted laser desorption/ionisation time of flight spectrometry for the fast screening of oxosteroids using aromatic hydrated hydrazines as versatile probes

► Three new matrices for MALDI analysis of oxosteroids have been synthetised. ► Nine oxosteroids have been analysed as recommend by the word antidoping agency, 2 ng/mL. ► Sample handling, time consumed and throughput are improved. ► Interferences caused by the MALDI matrix are avoided.
