Determination of a liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry method for the determination of sulfonamides, trimethoprim and dapsone in honey and validation according to Commission Decision 2002/657/EC for banned compounds

► A confirmative method for sulfonamides, trimethoprim and dapsone in honey is developed. ► Acidic hydrolysis and SPE was applied followed by LC-MS/MS analysis. ► The method was validated according to CD 2002/657/EC for non-authorized substances. ► Trueness and precision data complied with legislation requirements. ► Detection capability (CCβ) values were in the ranges 0.7-1.4 μg kg−1.
