Electrochemical preparation of poly(p-phenylenediamine-co-aniline) composite coating on a stainless steel wire for the headspace solid-phase microextraction and gas chromatographic determination of some derivatives of benzene

► A poly(p-phenylenediamine-co-aniline) coating is prepared by electrochemical method. ► It shows porous slice shape and has large surface area and high adsorption capacity. ► When it is used for SPME, it presents much better performance than PANI coating. ► This is a new way to make use of different monomers to prepare SPME fibers.
