Automatic determination of copper by in-syringe dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction of its bathocuproine-complex using long path-length spectrophotometric detection

► A fully automated spectrophotometric system for dispersive liquid-liquid microextraction of metals in a syringe is proposed. ► This system has been applied to the determination of copper in different kind of water samples. ► The applicability of the proposed system can be extended to other metals.
