In situ digestion for the determination of Ca in beverages by tungsten coil atomic emission spectrometry

► Ca is determined in juice, mineral and coconut water samples. ► Tungsten filament is used to digest the sample, atomize and excite the analyte. ► Atomizer extracted from inexpensive, commercially available projector light bulbs. ► In situ digestion on the atomizer with HNO3 and H2O2. ► Significant improvements in accuracy while applying the in situ digestion.
