The potential of ion mobility spectrometry (IMS) for detection of 2,4,6-trichloroanisole (2,4,6-TCA) in wine

► The gas phase ion chemistry for IMS of 2,4,6-trichloroanisole is presented. ► The reduced mobility values of these ions in air at 44 °C are reported for the first time. ► Calibration curves and the limit of detection of the system have been determined. ► Determination with IMS of 2,4,6-trichloroanisole in wine requires enrichment.
