Selectivity coefficients of ion-selective magnesium electrodes used for simultaneous determination of magnesium and calcium ions

► Novel method for estimating selectivity coefficients and the slope of the electrode characteristics is proposed. ► It is an effective starting point for selecting electrodes in a potentiometric clinical analyzer. ► It allows obtaining the ionized magnesium concentration in blood serum with minimal possible error.
