Failure analysis and acoustic emission tests of an in-service waste heat boiler

A series of failure phenomena of an in-service waste heat boiler is presented and the failure is analyzed. After the failed parts of the boiler were repaired, the boiler was tested by acoustic emission. The repaired and tested boiler had operated safely for three months by July 2004.
