RuCo nanoparticles were in-situ synthesized and immobilized on the surface of graphene-like titanium carbide (Ti3C2X2). RuCo nanoparticles were found to be well dispersed on Ti3C2X2 surface. The catalytic property of RuCo/Ti3C2X2 for hydrogen generation from the hydrolysis of ammonia borane at room temperature was investigated. Ru1Co9/Ti3C2X2 showed the highest turnover frequency of 896 mol H2·(mol Ru·min)â1 because of the synergetic effect between Ru and Co nanoparticles. The catalyst can also be easily separated from the reaction system by using a magnet and can be recycled at least four times, thereby showing potential practical applications.
