Effect of Al on the hydrogen storage properties of Mg(BH4)2

► Effect of Al on the hydrogen storage properties of Mg(BH4)2 system is investigated. ► Dehydrogenation properties of Mg(BH4)2 are improved by the addition of Al species. ► The hydrogen absorption/desorption processes of the Mg-B-Al-H systems are studied. ► The Mg-B-Al-H systems show partial reversibility of hydrogen storage.
