HOCl and the control of oncogenesis

NADPH oxidase-1 (NOX1) and a dual oxidase (DUOX)-related peroxidase (POD) domain establish HOCl signaling and apoptosis induction in malignant cells. Membrane-associated catalase (CAT) of bona fide tumor cells interferes with this process.
