Synthesis and antimicrobial activity of tetradentate ligands bearing hydrazone and/or thiosemicarbazone motifs and their diorganotin(IV) complexes

Four tetradentate ligands with thiosemicarbazone/hydrazone moieties and their complexes with SnR2Cl2 (R = Me, Bu, Ph) and SnI4 are synthesized and fully characterized. The antimicrobial activity of all the compounds against seven microorganisms was tested and the results showed that some of the derivatives can inhibit the growth of bacteria and fungi.98
