Spectroscopic characterization of genotoxic chromium(V) peptide complexes: Oxidation of Chromium(III) triglycine, tetraglycine and pentaglycine complexes

Three Cr(III) peptide complexes with triglycine, tetraglycine and pentaglycine were oxidized to carcinogenic Cr(VI) and Cr(V) species by PbO2 and periodate under physiologically relevant conditions of pH and temperature. They have been characterized by EPR spectroscopy, mass spectrometry and UV/Vis spectroscopy.59
