Synthesis of strained complexes of arene d6 metals with benzoylthiourea and their spectral studies

Reaction of arene d6 platinum group metal precursor complexes with thiourea derivatives yielded a series of neutral mono-dentate к1(S) complexes. Treatment of к1(S) complexes of ruthenium p-cymene with azide afforded highly strained four membered ring к2(N,S) complexes. In contrast to p-cymene ruthenium complexes, Cp*rhodium complex with azide yielded a six membered к2(S,O) azido complex. These azido complexes on further treatment with DMAD and DEAD yielded к2 (N,S) and к2(S,O) triazolato complexes with N(1) and N(2)- bound isomers.84
