Effect of support on hydro-metathesis of propene: A comparative study of W(CH3)6 anchored to silica vs. silica-alumina

Hydro-metathesis reaction has been performed by passing a mixture of propene and hydrogen through a catalyst bed at 150 °C. The products represent a mixture of petroleum range alkanes with olefins. Controlling the ratio of propene to hydrogen allow us to shift the selectivity of reaction towards alkanes.123
