Luminescent rhenium(I)-chromone bioconjugate: Synthesis, photophysical properties, and confocal luminescence microscopy investigation

A new luminescent Re(I) conjugate Re(CO)3(phen)L1 (Re1) incorporating a biologically active 8-bromochromone pendant fragment has been synthesized. The new complex penetrates into living cancer cells and accumulates in cytoplasmic structures.353
