Synthesis, structure, and fluxional behaviour of highly-substituted group 4 cyclopentadienyl arylaminate complexes

► Group 4 half-sandwich complexes containing C,N-chelating ligand have been prepared. ► Variable temperature 1H NMR experiments and DFT calculation have been performed. ► 2-[(Dimethylamino)methyl]phenyl ligand is fluxional in solution. ► Tetramethyl-substituted half-sandwich Hf and Zr trichlorides have been prepared.
