Synthesis and characterization of JBW structure and its thermal transformation

► Egyptian kaolin was successfully used to prepare pure phase of JBW Structure. ► JBW is stable till <300 °C. ► JBW phase crystallizes as cylindrical shape but agglomerates in a Nano spherical shape. ► The ion exchange isotherms of Cu2+, Ni2+, and Co2+ followed up Freundlich isotherm. ► Selectivity towards Cu2+ is much higher than Co2+ or Ni2+.
