Revisiting the properties of delafossite CuCrO2: A single crystal study

► R-CuCrO2 plate-like single crystals have been synthesised by the flux method. ► Growth takes place layer-by-layer and some growth defects have been observed. ► CuCrO2 single crystals exhibit a unique antiferromagnetic transition at TN=24 K. ► Transport measurements reveal that the resistivity is highly anisotropic.
