Investigation of the iron site localization in doped ZnO

► Iron doped ZnO was successfully synthesized by a combustion method. ► The Fe3+ tetrahedral coordination was deduced from Mössbauer results. ► The wurtzite structure was maintained after partial reduction of Fe3+ to Fe2+.
