The synthesis, structure, magnetic and luminescent properties of a new tetranuclear dysprosium (III) cluster

► A new designed ligand (dhampH5) was syntheisized. ► A new tetra-dysprosium cluster [Dy4(dhampH3)4(NO3)2](NO3)2 was made. ► Slow magnetization relaxation phenomenon was observed. ► Ligand-based luminescence was observed.
