Dithiocarbamate-modified starch derivatives with high heavy metal adsorption performance

- Three types of dithiocarbamate (DTC)-modified starch derivatives were synthesized.
- Adsorption mechanism was proved by chelating between DTC groups with heavy metal.
- DTC-modified mesoporous starch showed superior adsorption ability for heavy metals.
