Novel cholesterol-triazine-BODIPY trimers 7 bearing two cholesterol units was a hexagonal columnar liquid crystal with strong fluorescence, and the cholesterol-triazine moiety played crucial role for producing liquid crystalline property and enhancing fluorescence.185
