Experimental and theoretical studies of structural and photophysical properties of a novel heteroleptic cyclometalated iridium(III) complex with 8-hydroxyquinoline-phenylazo ligand

One mononuclear Ir(III) complex has been synthesized using O, N coordinating 5-phenylazo-8-hydroxyquinoline and N, C coordinating 2-phenylquinoline as ligand. The complex is isolated and characterized by different spectroscopic measurements. X-ray single crystal structure of the complex has been obtained. The electronic structure, absorption and emission spectrum of the complex was calculated applying DFT-TDDFT method.144
