Syntheses, structures and properties of cadmium(II) carboxylates containing polyamine/Schiff base: Variation of coordination numbers, and molecular and crystalline architectures by changing ligands

The syntheses, spectroscopic characterizations, X-ray structural analyses, thermal and luminescence properties of two cadmium(II) dicarboxylate compounds with tetradentate polyamine/Schiff base are presented. The interesting variations in coordination numbers, geometries and crystalline architectures in the compounds are highlighted. Different non-covalent interactions are playing vital roles in crystal lattice stabilization and superstructure formation.
