Investigating the effect of flexible ligands on the crystal engineering of the iron(II) coordination compounds

Two Fe(II) coordination compounds with the flexible ligands 1,4-bis(imidazolyl)butane and 1,3-bis(3,5-dimethylpyrazolyl)propane were obtained with different structures. Polymer 1 is a 3D CdSO4 network while, 2 is a mononuclear complex. An attempted synthesis of [Fe(bbd)2(NCS)2] (bbd = 1,4-bis(3,5-dimethylpyrazolyl)butane) was failed.
