Sm3+-doped Sc2O3 polycrystalline ceramics: Spectroscopic investigation

► Investigation of Sm3+: Sc2O3 ceramics in order to evaluate its potential for visible emission. ► The optical spectra in the UV-IR at 10 and 300 K range of Sm3+ Sc2O3 ceramics, were performed. ► Spectroscopic parameters were evaluated in the frame of the Judd-Ofelt theory.
