Eryngium foetidum L. leaves extract was used for the nontoxic, cost-effective biosynthesis of ZnO nanoparticles (NPs) following hydrothermal route. The biosynthesized ZnO NPs were examined for their anti-pathogenic bacterial potential against gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria. It showed an excellent antibacterial agent against pathogenic bacteria like Escherichia coli, Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Staphylococcus aureus susp. Aureus and Strptococcus pneumoniae. The maximum zone of inhibition in ZnO NPs is 32.23â¯Â±â¯0.62 and 28.77â¯Â±â¯1.30â¯mm for P. aeruginosa and E. coli, respectively. Therefore, a rapid and eco-friendly route for the synthesis of ZnO nanoparticles, with an effective antibacterial activity is reported in this study.
