The natural mineral of chrysotile was modified by γ-Aminopropyltriethoxysilane in water and then used as adsorbent for Cu(II) from aqueous solution. The results indicated that the modified chrysotile was a kind of highly efficient and promising adsorbent for Cu(II) with an adsorption capacity of more than 1.3 mmol/g, which was superior to most of adsorbents reported by others. The thermodynamics and kinetics of the Cu(II) adsorption were investigated in detail, which would help us to understand the adsorption character and process.
