On the estimation of the falling velocity and drag coefficient of torpedo anchor during acceleration

► Drag coefficients were greatly influenced by the anchors' acceleration. ► Mathematical model were used to calculate the falling velocity of the torpedo anchors. ► Geometry of the anchors remarkably affected the velocities during acceleration. ► Measured CDs were in a reasonable range of data found in the literature.
