PMSE observations with the EISCAT VHF- and UHF-radars: Ice particles and their effect on ambient electron densities

► EISCAT VHF- and UHF-observations are combined to determine electron densities in PMSE. ► In the large majority of cases the electron density is weakly depleted. ► Spectral analysis confirms the presence of charged ice particles.
