Forecast of development of quasi-biennial oscillation in the equatorial stratospheric wind until April 2014

► Wind alterations in equatorial stratosphere during quasi-biennial cycle are examined. ► The easterly wind descent demonstrates an unambiguous seasonal relation. ► Seasonal regularities allow making an early forecast of QBO-phase transitions. ► The technique of forecasting the QBO-cycle evolution is described. ► Dates of QBO-phase transitions are predicted for all months up to April 2014.
