Resveratrol inhibits genistein-induced multi-drug resistance protein 2 (MRP2) expression in HepG2 cells

► We examine the interactions of resveratrol and genistein on the drug transporter MRP2. ► Resveratrol inhibits genistein-induced MRP2 expression in HepG2 cells. ► Resveratrol inhibits genistein-induced binding of the RXRa in MRP2 promoter. ► Our study suggests that phytochemicals can interfere with each other's regulatory functions.
