Production of transgenic chickens expressing a tetracycline-inducible GFP gene

► We tried to demonstrate controllable expression of the exogenous gene in chicken. ► GFP expression was induced by feeding the transgenic chicken with tetracycline. ► The GFP transgene was transmitted to the next generation. ► The induced expression was turned off by removal of tetracycline from the diet.
