Anti-NMDA-receptor antibody encephalitis: Performance evaluation and laboratory experience with the anti-NMDA-receptor IgG assay

► N-methyl-d-aspartate-receptor (NMDAR) IgG test is diagnostic for a novel form of encephalitis. ► NMDAR IgG antibody prevalence in our cohort was consistent with previous reports. ► Antibody-positivity was found in individuals of all ages and gender, with or without tumor. ► This test is practical for the evaluation encephalitis and may be relevant for managing disease.
