Identification of pharmacogenetic predictors of lipid-lowering response to atorvastatin in Chilean subjects with hypercholesterolemia

► The influence of genetic variants on atorvastatin response was evaluated. ► Atorvastatin treatment is influenced by G allele for − 290A>G variant of CYP3A4. ► The carriers of the G allele for the − 290A>G variant have lower CYP3A4 activity. ► The variant − 290A>G of CYP3A4 could be used as a pharmacogenetic predictor.
