Impact of 10Â mg rosuvastatin daily or alternate-day on lipid profile and inflammatory markers

► Statin administrated alternate-day may result in a significant decrease in health expenses and reduce side effects. ► We examined the impact of 10 mg of rosuvastatin administrated alternate-day or daily on lipid profile and inflammatory markers. ► Alternate-day dosing of rosuvastatin resulted in a significant lipid-lowering and anti-inflammatory effects comparable to that of daily administration. ► Alternate-day regime may be a viable option for those patients in whom cost is a limitation to compliance, especially in developing countries such as Chinese patients.
