⺠Lumican-deficient osteosarcoma cells have increased adhesive capability onto FN. ⺠Endogenous TGF-β2 activity is obligatory for lumicans' effect. ⺠Lumican/TGF-β2 downstream effectors are pSmad 2, integrin β1 and pFAK. ⺠Lumican is proposed to be an endogenous TGF-β2 inhibitor.
