High alveolar concentration of nitric oxide is associated with alveolitis in scleroderma

► We investigate whether high alveolar concentration of NO (CANO) reflects alveolitis. ► Alveolitis was documented by broncho-alveolar lavage fluid analysis. ► CANO was assessed according to two methods of measurement. ► CANO could be used as a non-invasive surrogate biomarker of alveolitis in lung fibrosis.
